Class Organisation

Class Organisation at Ysgol Plascrug

Starting school is an important milestone for your child. However, the process of learning has begun at home with you; you and your family are your child’s most influential educators.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to the wider family at Plascrug School. We place great value on creating a partnership with you so that together we can continue to help your child develop and learn.

We are confident your child will be happy at Plascrug School and we hope you too will gain a sense of belonging to the community of Plascrug School.

At Plascrug School we endeavour to organise our classes into single-aged year groups with two parallel classes running alongside each other throughout the school. Our maximum number in each class is 30. However this ideal situation is not always possible; where numbers are not favourable, i.e. high numbers in one year group and extremely low numbers in the next year group, mixed aged groups have been necessary.

Pupils enjoy learning through a variety of topics and stimuli; focus is given in developing pupils’ skills in each subject area and we promote independent lifelong learning. Plascrug School is a fully inclusive school. We recognise and support pupils with specific educational and / or physical needs at a very early age. We have a vast number of teachers, Pupil Support Workers and Learning Support Assistants with a wide range of specialised skills.

Plascrug School also enjoys the reputation of being a centre of excellence for supporting pupils who have English as an Additional Language (EAL). We have a specialist EAL Pupil Support Worker to provide in-class support and specialised tuition for our overseas children.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information about our school.
